The Bellingham Public School Foundation (BPSF)  will host the first annual Hungry Minds Breakfast at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Shuksan Middle School.

The program, “Why Quality Education is Good Business”, features Superintendent Greg Baker,  Dean Francisco Rios of WWU’s Woodring College of Education, and Tom Dorr, former director of the Center for Economic Vitality and expert on small business growth and management.

All proceeds support BPSF’s mission of raising community awareness and financial support to help ensure that the best possible education is available to all students in Bellingham Public Schools. Dollars raised will be awarded to students, teachers and the district through a grant application process next school year.

Lead event sponsor, Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU), will be joined by a number of local businesses supporting this event, including Louis Auto Glass, Bornstein Seafood, Birch Equipment, DIS Corporation, Dawson Construction, Chmelik, Sitkin & Davis, Educational Systemics, AXA Advisors, Industrial Credit Union, TC Trading Company, Business Bank, Sleepmasters, Park Manor, Group of Health Insurance Services and Cascade DAFO.
